Creating sustainable solutions to Food Insecurity and Preventing Human Trafficking.
“In order to meaningfully tackle the issue of child trafficking, it is essential to trace it to its underlying causes. A lack of food access is one such cause that impacts millions of children around the world today, and it is a reality that we have the power to change.” - UNICEF
The Problem
When a family can't reliably feed their children, everything else gets harder to hold onto. Parents take on debt they can't repay. Kids drop out of school to work. Some families send children away with strangers who promise steady meals and a better life elsewhere and that promise is exactly what traffickers use to gain trust. Food insecurity doesn't cause trafficking on its own, but it opens the door to it, and closing that door starts with something as basic as a reliable source of food.
The Solution
Our solution is simple and durable: we build aquaponic farms that turn a small footprint of land and water into a steady, year-round source of fresh fish and vegetables. But the part that makes this work long after we leave is who builds it and who keeps it. We partner with local leaders who already have the community's trust, build the farm alongside them, and then hand over full ownership. We don't run these farms, the people who live there do. That's what turns a single food source into lasting stability: a family that can feed itself doesn't need a stranger's promise of something better somewhere else.
What we actually do
We don’t run these farms long-term, we hand them over.

The Heart of FFC
“Ten years ago, I stood in a river in Oregon with a fly rod and a question: Could this help fight human trafficking?
That spark became Fish Farm Collaborative — a way to mobilize our community and support those on the front lines.
We’ve been building farms, mentoring foster youth, and upstream preventing trafficking ever since.
Our motto - Fish Well. Do Good.”
